I have so much to talk about, seriously. I blame my lack of blogging on facebook. I am very active on there. :)
The biggest thing that has recently occured is that we found out we are having a baby girl! We are naming her Isabella Rae. We will call her Bella. At first I didn't want people making Twilight jokes because I really just LOVE the name, but eh who cares what people think. In five years no one will associate her name with that movie, and it will still be beautiful. We are going to do her room in Classic Pooh. It is so adorable and soft and girly. I am excited to get started on it.
We found out that she was indeed a girl on my birthday, March 18th. It was such a fun day. Joe and I went up to the elective ultrasound clinic early in the morning and found out. Then we went to breakfast together and stopped by the mall on the way home just to finally look at girly things. Random - but it seems to me that it is easier to find cute girl clothes than boy clothes, but on the other hand, I like boy nursery themes so much better than girl nursery themes. I am so glad we finally decided on one lol.
After that we went home and took a nap and then went to dinner with my parents at Cheddar's and ran by Babys R Us afterwards. It was fun, but expensive! I'm not sure how much stuff from there I will actually register for. So far I have found tons of things for the nursery on Amazon. And most of the other "big" things I have registered for at Everything for Kids. Baby essentials I found at Target. It makes more sense because we are not really that close to a Babys R US so I feel like it will be easier for people to get me things from stores that are more local.
I have a lot of countdowns going on - the main one being that I will be NINETEEN WEEKS on Friday! Time is flying by, I can't even believe that we are halfway through this pregnancy. I go for my 20 week ultrasound and anatomy scan on the 18th, so hopefully she will still be a girl then. haha! 3 weeks of school left! (For this semester) I can't wait, this semester has been very stressful on me. I just want to make it out alive! 8 weeks until I quit my job - this is scary and exciting all at once, but that's an entirely different post. :) I am so excited for the months to come and I am trying to soak up every day of this pregnancy.
Speaking of, I started feeling her move around in there for the first time two nights ago! I just laid on my side, afraid to move for like an hour. What an amazing feel. It's truly indescribable.
Oh, and I have recently become obsessed with baby shoes (she already has four pairs) and etsy. That website is not safe for a woman on a budget lol. :)
Happy Spring!

A post full of nonsense.
Being pregnant is fun and exciting. Sometimes I think about raising a child though, and that is mostly scary. I have two sisters and we are about as different as three people can be. How can three people, raised by the exact same two people, turn out so differently?
I have all these ideas and things I will and won't do once the baby is here. At least Joe and I talk a big game when it comes to that, but who knows how we will really be? What if I don't do the things I hope right now that I will? What if I look at my teenager one day in 16 years (as I'm sure I will) and I think "who is this person"?? I am scared of doing/saying something wrong. I know this is silly.
I also had a nice little crying fit in the middle of a nice movie the other night with Joe, thinking about the baby not being a baby anymore. I am so excited for what is to come, but it already makes me sad, the thought of my little boy/girl not wanting to hold my hand in public, not wanting me to drive them to school, not wanting anything to do with me. How hurtful that must be, from a parent's point of view. To want a baby so badly, and then one day that baby doesn't want you. It is making me tear up now, at work, like a crazy person, just thinking about it.
Like I said, I know this is silly, and all I can do is my best. And hope and PRAY LIKE CRAZY that all of my kids are just like their daddy and love their mother forever, and never give her any greif. Please Lord, don't make them anything like me!

I'm Impatient
And because I am so impatient, I made an appointment at an ultrasound studio about an hour away to find out what we are having when I'm 16 weeks along. I wanted to do this for two reasons:
1 - I'm impatient.
2 - I will be 16 weeks on my birthday!
How fun will it be to find out what we are having on my birthday? I talked to a couple of different girls who have been to this place and I talked to the receptionist on the phone and they all told me it's really accurate. We will come home with about 15 pictures printed out and even more than that on a CD. I am so excited!
The crazy thing is, that is only 3 weeks from tomorrow!!

Yay!!
Everything went great with my ultrasound today. It was for an NT scan and my doctor said everything looked right on track. I am 12 weeks and 4 days, but measuring 12 weeks 6 days which is a good thing! She said my due date is Sept 2, which is what I originally thought, but for some reason last time they told me September 4th. who knows. I like September 2nd better. The heartbeat was 161 and my doctor said the fold at the back of Baby's neck was measuring small just like they want it to, so the odds of a chromosomal defect should be slim. I will find out in a week or so, but I'm not worried. Other than that, I scheduled my next two appointments so hopefully we will be finding out what we are having on April 18!! Sounds so far away but it will be here before I know it. :)
And I leave you with this:

Ultrasound Tomorrow
We have our first ultrasound tomorrow. I am a little nervous about it. I'm not really sure why, I guess I just want everything to go well. I know it is going to make this whole thing a lot more real for the both of us - especially because I haven't been sick at all. (Lucky me, I know haha)
The reason we are getting the ultrasound is because it's part of a new testing they do call nuchal testing. They use an ultrasound, and two rounds of bloodwork to determine the odds of your child having a chromosomal disorder. We mainly opted to do this because we get an ultrasound, but it is also better, in our opinion, to be as prepared as possible.
Please pray that everything goes well tomorrow. We will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time!

Pregnant.
I didn't know how else to title this except the obvious way. I am pregnant. :) Finally, gloriously pregnant after 8 months of trying. 8 months sounds like such a small amount of time now, in hindsight. But it didn't feel small when I was waiting. It felt huge.
This is why I didn't post at all in January. We found out on New Year's Eve when I was exactly 5 weeks pregnant. We immediately called our parents/siblings and told them, and other than a few other very close friends, kept it a secret for a while. We finally made it public news (and Facebook official) when I was 9 weeks. I will be 11 weeks on Friday.
I had to finally sit down and force myself to write a post about this, despite how busy life has been lately because I don't want to forget anything. I don't want to forget any little details about this pregnancy. I still can hardly believe it's even true.
A little update on me, I have had no morning sickness whatsoever. I consider myself extremely blessed in that department. Other than extreme exhaustion, I haven't felt that different. But seriously, I'm exhausted at all times. I try to sleep a lot on the weekends. During the week I don't have that luxury because I work full time and take night classes three nights a week, on top of three online classes. So I'm busy. And tired. All. The. Time.
But I will take it. I will take every exhausted minute of it. I am so excited to finally start this chapter in my life and with Joe. I couldn't ask for a better man. God has truly blessed us beyond measure!
